CEREBRAL PALSY

Cerebral Palsy causes many different problems in the development of a child. It can cause weak muscles, mental retardation, seizures, muscle spasms, speech problems and impediments, difficulty swallowing due to poor muscle control and other symptoms associated with a lack of coordination and control of body movements. There is no cure for Cerebral Palsy.

Cerebral Palsy can be caused by damage to the brain during the early stages of fetal development. However, a large portion of children diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy develop the condition as a direct result of injuries sustained during the childbirth process. For example, a delayed delivery and seizures during the first 48 hours of life can limit the oxygen flow to the brain, resulting in this condition. In some cases, these injuries are caused by mistakes made by health care professionals.

Although not all cases of Cerebral Palsy are a result of Medical Malpractice, many are. We have trained nurses and attorneys on staff who are experts in Cerebral Palsy lawsuits and can help you determine whether you or your child has Cerebral Palsy due to medical malpractice. In this case, you need to receive compensation that will allow you and your child to have deal with medical expenses and improve quality of life; having the means to provide your child with medical treatment and therapy can make a very large difference in your child’s future.

Our lawyers who specialize in Cerebral Palsy have helped many children in New York get the compensation they deserve to help them and their families seek treatment. Please contact us now for a free consultation and speak to one of our experienced Cerebral Palsy attorneys and a Registered Nurse Consultant to determine if your child's disability was caused by Medical Malpractice.
